STUDIO SHORIMOMA
INTRO Studio Shorimoma is a Berlin-based design studio founded by Moritz Stürmer. The studio explores the connection between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary digital production, developing objects that combine functionality, clear forms, and sustainable materials. Design is understood here as an open process in which materials, techniques, and ideas enter into dialogue and continuously evolve.
THE STUDIO At the core are objects defined by a clear design language and a functional approach. The current collections include 3D-printed vases, graphic prints, and accessories. Reduced forms, thoughtful proportions, and a calm aesthetic shape the work. The aim is to create objects that integrate naturally into everyday life while maintaining a distinctive design identity.
THE FOUNDER Moritz Stürmer developed his interest in design during his apprenticeship as a carpenter. After completing his training and gaining initial professional experience, he studied Craft Design at the Academy of Craft and Design in Aachen and earned his master craftsman qualification in parallel with his studies. Since early 2025, he has been running Studio Shorimoma as an independent design studio.
PROCESS & PRODUCTION All products are currently produced directly in the studio. Only sustainable materials are used in order to create durable, high-quality, and responsible objects.
COLLABORATION The work evolves through collaboration with various creative partners who support the studio in areas such as photography and animation. The team is further strengthened by Clara Heckelmann, who after her time as an intern now contributes extensively to both design and organizational processes. In addition, collaborations are established with local and regional partners — whether in sourcing sustainable materials, producing specialized objects, or in spaces where the work is presented and used. These partnerships allow the vision behind Studio Shorimoma to be realized in a consistent and high-quality way.
LOOKING AHEAD Studio Shorimoma is an evolving project. The goal is to continuously expand the collection while maintaining the studio’s core values: thoughtful design, responsible materials, and fair production.
